Fly Screen: a Guide

We have discussed how flyscreens for windows are vital for commercial premises. This is for many reasons, not least because they keep pests away and allow for airflow. We offer eight types of window fly strips for doors. However, you might not know the difference, so we’ve put together this quick guide.

Standard Flyscreen

The frame is powder coated in aluminium and has mitred corners for extra strength and durability. The fly screen mesh is placed by a combination of turn buttons and hinges. It can then be removed easily for cleaning. The screen has a nylon brush on the outside that is perfect for keeping flying insects out. This durable, easy-to-install screen offers great value for both domestic and commercial use.

Canopy Box Insect Screens

This powder-coated aluminium frame with mitred corners provides strength and durability. This is ideal for external screening, such as roof vents, pivot windows, and louvres.

Centre Pivot Flyscreens

Our centre pivot fly screen is great if you have a centre pivot window. The top half of your window is secured with one fly screen and the bottom with the other. The window opens as normal between the fly screens. You can also use a nylon brush to seal the window.

Chain Winder Fly Screen System

A chain winder flyscreen system is a solution to a difficult-to-reach window. A chain winder attaches to an existing window, and the flyscreen is placed over it. The window can then be opened and closed easily without taking out the filter. This prolongs the screen’s life.

FlexiCon Window Operating System

The flexion window operating system is an alternative to the traditional chain winder system. It consists of a worm drive hidden within a decorative metal sleeve and controlled by a handle. This operation is more convenient than the chain winder because it allows you to connect up to four windows to one handle.

Retractable Ventalite

This solution is made from fibreglass and blends seamlessly with your wooden or uPVC windows. The anti-wind mechanism ensures that the mesh stays within the side guides, even under pressure. A brake device allows for smooth retracting of the screen when necessary.

Sub Frame and Screen

This fly-screen solution works for windows with handles that stick out beyond the frame. This sub-frame keeps the screen from touching the window. It prolongs the screen’s life by preventing the handle from piercing or coming in contact with the screen.

Slider Screen

The sliding screen is your best choice if you need easy access to your windows to clean them. The sliding screen comprises an aluminium frame with two moving screens. They can be mounted horizontally or vertically. A triple slider is also available.
